„The Nová dráma/New Drama Festival does not portray today's twenty-year-old as a celebration of beauty.
Unhappy love, disintegration of personality, suicide, alcoholism. Nothing for fun or laughter, but it can still become an absurd grotesque.

„A night full of alcohol, techno music and dance. Masha is playing with her devoted Bear. Nina sins with Trigorin. Introvert Treplev reveals his artistic dilemmas. And Irina pretends that nothing is wrong. Dreams and ideals of love, art and society have become bitter. The generation of young people in their twenties, frustrated by rotten human relationships and by the feeling of the senselessness of life has been trapped in disillusion. At least in Tomáš Procházka's interpretation of the Chekhvov's play Seagull.“

„I wrote my first novel as a grammar schol student. „Fortunately, no one has ever read it, " smiles Jon Fosse. As a bold twenty-one year old man, he sent his second novel to the publishing house. To his enormous surprise, the novel was published and he became a writer. At first, he didn't like theatre at all. Today, he is the most prominent Norwegian playwright. He visited Bratislava as a patron of the 13th edition of the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival.“

„"And the rest is silence," – as Vladislava Fekete, director of the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival 2017, remarked in her final speech. This year's edition of the festival had even (already traditionally) two endings. Although "multiple end" syndrome in theatre is usually a reason for criticism, the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival has two endings quite deliberately. The first one is the last performance of the competition programme. The second is the Prize-Awarding Ceremony which is followed by a foreign guest performance.“

„According to the work with texts, I found most promising a tendency which works with texts that are in principle non-dramatic (War's Unwomanly Face, Submission, Beauty and Filth). At first, I considered it as a slightly negative aspect, but in the end I found it really adventurous, revealing new horizons of theatre which we don't know yet.“

„Because “Sharing” seemed to be the crucial unifying element of experience common in many and partly greatly divergent kinds of so called “immersive theatre”, one of the main points of focus during the 2-day “New Drama” Conference...“
